What is functional medicine?

Functional medicine is a systems biology–based approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease. It's a holistic, patient-centered, collaborative approach to healthcare. By using ancestral health strategies to align our bodies more closely with our environment, it shifts the focus away from treating illnesses as they occur to preventing them from developing in the first place. The Functional Medicine approach deals directly with the underlying cause of a health issue and treats each patient as a whole, unique individual, prioritizing lifestyle, nutritional, and behavioral changes over pharmaceuticals.

As an ADAPT Certified Functional Health Coach, I am trained through  the lens of functional medicine and I support you to develop and optimize your foundations of health i.e. sleep, exercise, nutrition,

stress management, relationships and any aspect of

life that impacts your well-being.

 

As a coach, I don't push advice, supplements, nutrition plans or exercise regimens. I provide guidance and support based on your self determined goals. I listen deeply, ask thought provoking questions, offer honest feedback and insights to help you move through your obstacles and reach your potential.
